Hopetown, Darlington
The Kiosk was re-situated in Darlington as part of Navigator North and Middlesbrough Art Week’s FORGED programme, contributing to the S&DR200 celebrations in 2025.
Installed at Hopetown Darlington and presented across multiple sites, the project operated as a mobile printmaking workshop and public interface, engaging visitors, students, and local communities.
The kiosk functioned as both workspace and display, making the process of image-making visible. Through drawing and printmaking, participants produced responses to local railway heritage, generating a collection of prints, stories, and shared material connected to the site.

“Loved having The Kiosk here — students were excited to show their own work within it. It created an opportunity to experience both making and curating, while connecting to the railway’s history in a meaningful way.”
— Dr Carol Sommer, Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College
“The project sparked curiosity across the school and created a memorable, hands-on experience for the children.”
