Staged Fragments, 2023

This body of work explores the construction of images through memory, photography, and painterly intervention. Working between on-site photography, digital editing, and painting, the works reimagine scenes that sit between observation and invention.

Figures are positioned within ambiguous environments, where narrative is suggested but never fully resolved. Drawing on ideas of intertextuality and media archaeology, the paintings reference existing imagery while disrupting its original context, allowing new meanings to emerge.

Rather than reproducing reality, the work seeks to construct moments that feel familiar yet uncertain. Through fragmentation, layering, and painterly distortion, each image becomes a space where memory, fiction, and perception intersect.
